If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children under 12 are required to wear a life jacket at all times. Please let us know if you have children in your party and provide their age, so we can make sure we have the right size life jacket.
You'll be welcome aboard a 22' Center console that fishes comfortably with up to 4 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Depending on the length of the trip, live bait is available, but you should ask the Captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.

On our harbor cruises we will share with you historic Newburyport water front, once a ship building power house trading around the world.
We can cruise along miles of pristine beaches of the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge or coast along the quiet backwaters of the Great Salt Marsh. See Osprey and herons in their natural habitat.
Our private harbor and river cruises accommodate groups of 6 or less.

Captain Dana Nelson has been on the water for more than 50 years. He is experienced fishing and catching stripers in the Merrimack River, Plum Island Sound, Essex River and surrounding waters of Ipswich Bay.
Dana is Coast Guard licensed (Up to 6 passengers 100 miles off shore) and fully insured. Additionally, the past winter (2025) Dana upgraded his credentials to include Master on vessels up to 25 gross tons with a towing assistance endorsement.
Captain Dana is an expert striper fisherman who knows where to find fish and how to catch them. He is knowledgeable about how and where to find trophy stripers, often using live mackerel, pogies or pollack to entice the cow stripers.
He is known for his patient style and being a great fishing instructor. You can be sure he will do whatever he can to make sure his customers have fun, learn some fishing skills and catch fish!
He is knowledgeable about the areas ship building history, and natural beauty of the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge beaches and Great Salt Marsh.
Captain Dana has spent his entire life on and under the water. He is a keen observer of the natural environment. He spent time scuba diving, learning how subtle changes in bottom structure influence bait and game fish behavior.
Captain Dana recently retired from Raytheon as an engineer. He has a master's degree in Manufacturing Management. He spent his career working in the defense and electronics industry primarily working with suppliers to resolve technical problems involving welding, quality and nondestructive testing. private small group charter newburyport fishing charter
We will welcome you aboard the Fishin' Pole II a 22 foot center console, a 2022 Sea Pro ideal for live bait fishing or cruising Ipswich Bay.
Fishin Pole II is fully equipped with the latest electronics and safety gear. The vessel is fully insured for charters up to 6 passengers. Fishing charters are limited to 4 persons to maximize individual fishing time. Cruises are limited to 6.

Gratuities always appreciated for good service and great fishing.
All tackle, bait, and fishing licenses are provided. I will clean and bag your fish. (Current stripped bass limits are 28 to less than 31 inches, one per angler)
Cancellation policy - Kindly give me at least 48 hours notice. In case of bad weather, we can re-schedule for a future date.

We pick up customers on the dock at the end of the fishing pier at Cashman Park, Sally Snider Way in Newburyport MA.
Please refrain from parking adjacent to the river or in the trailer parking area.
Bring a sense of adventure and a positive outlook. Conditions can be quite different from land. Bring layers and a wind breaker. Water is available, but please bring your own snacks and other drinks. Pack your favorite sun screen and bug spray is suggested. Please leave alcoholic beverages and smoking products on shore.
No need to worry about licenses, rods reels or bait, all is included.
